The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) website permits rudimentary searching of patents and trademarks, and generally contains a great deal of information about the PTO.

The U.S. Copyright Office website provides similar information about copyrights, forms for completing applications for copyright registrations and information about the U.S. Copyright Office.
